A real company has pretty much copied Powerthirst for their commercial. It's for a car dealership, no less. We're feeling pretty beat up by this, and will accept a variety of condolences: cards, flowers, orphangrams. You name it.

This year Picnicface is honored to be the Company in Residence of Dramafest 2008, adjudicating plays performed by high school students from the surrounding Halifax area and other parts of Nova Scotia. Students interested in all fields of theatre take part in classes taught by artists from all over Canada over a three day period. We were mentioned in dead-frog.com! The subject is a commercial for Brawndo Energy Drink, which borrows from the concept we used for Powerthirst. (Borrows with our permission, of course.) Satire being used to advertise for the object of that satire -- Naomi Klein is feeling pretty smug right about now.

Thanks to all of your subscriptions and video views, Picnicface is now in talks with YouTube to become a "Youtube Partner." We'll keep you posted! This may mean we'll actually have a budget for our sketches.
